Call for papers
The Institute of Polish Language, University of Warsaw, The Institute of German Studies, University of Warsaw and The Polish Language Foundation in collaboration with The German Language Society (Gesellschaft für Deutsche Sprache) invite you to the conference “Key words”, which will be held on October 25-26, 2019 at the University of Warsaw.
The conference is devoted to keywords in the public discourse, the methods of their selection and linguistic analyzing. This theme brings together different methodologies and different levels of analysis of language and discourse, including:
- statistics linguistics,
- corpus linguistics and linguistic engineering,
- media studies,
- cultural and intercultural linguistics,
- lexicology and lexicography.
By combining different methods and experiences, the conference will try to describe the keywords of contemporary public discourse. The conference is part of the on “Words on time” project and poll “The word of the year.” The conference aims to look at similar projects in other countries, as “Oxford Dictionaries’ Word of the Year” or “Wort des Jahres” polls in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, and others.
You are invited to submit your abstract by
August 31, 2019 September 10, 2019 via the application form.
After the anonymous reviews we will inform you about the paper acceptance by September 20, 2019.
